Auction Catalogue: Sheffield Railwayana, 8 June 2013
||A shedplate 12B Carlisle Upperby (1935 to June 1950), then Carlisle Canal (June 1950 to July 1951), then Penrith (October 1955 to February 1958), and finally Carlisle Upperby (February 1958 to closure to steam January 1968). This code is probably best known for its use as Carlisle Upperby, the ex LNWR shed having around 90 locos at the height of its importance. The ex NBR shed at Canal had the distinction of having four A3s and five D49s carrying this code among its 60 occupants. Out of use between 1951 and 1955, only six locos at Penrith carried 12B until Upperby regained it in 1958. Ex loco condition.
